The Lebanese group Hezbollah announced a missile strike on the Israeli Defense Ministry and General Staff buildings located in the Kiriya government complex in Tel Aviv. The organization's military information service, posted on its official Telegram channel, said the strike was carried out by Qader-2 ballistic missiles on key Israeli military and administrative infrastructure facilities.
Hezbollah claims that the missiles targeted Defense Ministry offices and other strategic buildings in the Kiriya area, which also houses the IDF headquarters. The Lebanese group said the rocket attack was aimed at undermining Tel Aviv's military and political power, confirming that the missiles hit their intended targets with precision.
Hezbollah has previously attacked the Kiriya using suicide drones. The drones were said to have hit their target accurately, hitting several ground targets associated with military infrastructure. According to Hezbollah, the operation was one of the first series of drone attacks on strategically important Israeli installations and was a response to Israeli military activity in the region.
Among the other targets that were shelled were also military-industrial enterprises of Israel. The Lebanese organization claims that high-precision missiles hit the Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) plant in the Tel Aviv suburb of Ramat HaSharon. This enterprise specializes in the production of weapons for Israeli and foreign security forces and is a strategically important element of the country's defense industry. As a result of the shelling, the plant was partially damaged.
Local media confirm that no alarm was raised in Tel Aviv or its environs during the attack, raising questions about the readiness of Israel's air defenses to deal with such threats. According to NEWSru.co.il, a Hezbollah suicide drone struck the government compound during daylight hours, but Israeli officials have so far refrained from commenting.
