The Lebanese publication Al-Akhbar, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, reported on the retreat of Israeli forces from the al-Khiam region and a number of Shiite villages in southern Lebanon. According to the publication, Israeli units returned to the Metula region, which the Lebanese side regards as a success for Hezbollah. However, according to some reports, this may be a temporary tactical redeployment of IDF forces aimed at preparing an offensive in another direction, in particular, the Bint Jbeil region.
The Israeli army has not yet officially commented on the situation, but some sources indicate the possibility of intensifying preparations for new military actions, which may include regrouping and concentrating forces in key locations. Bint Jbeil, which the Israeli army may consider a possible strategic target for the next operation, is known as a Hezbollah stronghold and has symbolic significance for the Shiite resistance in the region.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah is actively spreading a victory claim, emphasizing the role of its fighters in the allegedly forced retreat of the IDF. Experts, however, warn that the current situation in southern Lebanon remains tense and does not rule out further escalation, since any redeployment could indicate preparations for the resumption of active hostilities.
