The organization of ICAO intends to introduce mandatory use of floating "black boxes".

At the moment, the organization strongly advises all airlines in the world to use floating black boxes, which will allow for more effective investigation of plane crashes, but it is assumed that the new rule may become mandatory starting as early as next year.

The conceptual idea of ​​floating black boxes has already been realized, and it is possible that all new aircraft will already be equipped with them. In addition, it is assumed that the new flight recorders will have a longer autonomous operation mode, which in case of unforeseen circumstances will give search and rescue teams more time to find self-powered devices.
