India plans to abandon the exploitation of obsolete military aircraft.

Such data are cited by the Indian media, noting that in the period from 2014 to 2015 alone, the Air and Naval Forces of India lost 35 aircraft (24 aircraft and 11 helicopters - ed. Avia.pro), and the victims of crashes were 14 people. In the overwhelming majority of cases, we are talking about obsolete aircraft, the operation of which is unsafe, not to mention the low efficiency of use in the event of any military conflict.

Given the data, only to buy new helicopters in India will have to spend about 80 billion dollars.

It should be clarified that to date India is interested in the operation of Russian military air equipment, and more recently, the Russian and Indian authorities have signed a major contract for the supply of military equipment.
