A new scandal erupted at the Russian Ministry of Defense - large-scale fraud.

Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Colonel General Khalil Arslanov, is accused of large-scale fraud. Information on this is provided by the Russian news agency Interfax.

“The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Khalil Arslanov has been charged with major fraud, he does not admit his guilt. <...> Earlier in October, the Kommersant newspaper wrote that Arslanov was involved in a case of fraud in the purchase of special equipment for the armed forces of the Russian Federation, and, according to the publication, a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior was taken from him "- Interfax reports.

The exact amount of damage caused is not yet called, however, given the fact that we are talking about large-scale fraud, the amount can be up to 500 thousand rubles, although according to other sources, the damage from fraud can be up to one billion rubles.

The purchase of what kind of special equipment is in question, so far remains unknown - there are no official comments on this from the Russian Ministry of Defense so far.
