US intelligence expects that a possible attack by Iran and Hezbollah on Israel will take place in two stages. Representatives of US security agencies reported this to President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and members of the National Security Council at a secret meeting in the “situation room” of the White House. Details of the discussion became known thanks to the American portal Axios.

“The meeting was dedicated to the threats posed by Iran and its proxy groups against Israel and American troops in the region,” - says a statement released by the press service of the US administration.

At the meeting, Biden and Harris were briefed on the recent missile attack on Ain al-Assad air base in Iraq, which resulted in casualties among US troops.

"They discussed steps that are being taken to protect our forces and respond to any attack on US military personnel." - reported the White House.

In addition, the President and Vice President received information about Washington's measures of military support for Israel in the event of an attack on the Jewish state. This includes providing the necessary assistance and coordinating actions between the military structures of the two countries.

According to US intelligence, the first wave of attacks is expected to come from Hezbollah, while the second wave will come from Iran and its allies in the Middle East. However, Washington cannot yet accurately determine the nature of these attacks and the sequence of attacks.
