On the evening of June 13, 2025, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel, launching more than a hundred ballistic missiles from its territory, the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported. According to Avia.pro, the missiles took about 10 minutes to arrive, and the launches were recorded in the airspace of Iraq and Syria. In response to the attack, an air raid alert was declared throughout Israel, and fighters from the anti-Iran coalition, including the US, UK and Jordan, were raised to intercept. The first successful interceptions have already been recorded, but the situation remains extremely tense, threatening to escalate into a full-scale regional conflict.
The Times of Israel reports that Israeli air defense systems, including Iron Dome and David's Sling, have been put on full alert. IDF sources said the strikes are targeting military targets in central and southern Israel, including air bases and strategic centers.
According to Al Jazeera, Iran has used ballistic missiles, including upgraded Fateh-110 and Qader models capable of carrying warheads weighing up to a ton. This makes interception much more difficult, despite the support of its allies. According to The Guardian, the US has sent additional F-16 squadrons and destroyers with air defense systems to the region to bolster Israel’s defense. Jordan, which has closed its airspace, is also involved in intercepting the missiles, as it did during the previous attack in October 2024, when, according to the BBC, 99% of Iranian missiles and drones were neutralized.
