Iran has threatened Israel with decisive retaliation in response to the killing of the commander of the elite Quds Force.

The Iranian Ambassador to Damascus has expressed strong protest over the recent attack on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Syria, which resulted in the death of senior officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He stressed that Tehran's response to this act of aggression, contrary to international law, will be decisive and carried out at a time convenient for Iran. The attack on the consulate and other official facilities in Damascus was condemned by the UN, expressing concern about Israel's actions. In response to the potential threat from Iran, Israel has increased security measures for its diplomatic missions abroad.

The attack killed Mohammad Reza Zahedi, commander of the elite Quds Force, and two other IRGC generals, one of the most serious blows to Iran's military leadership in recent memory. The attack caused significant resonance on the international stage, especially among countries directly or indirectly involved in the Syrian conflict. The Israeli authorities, in accordance with their policy, do not comment on allegations of their participation in the attack, remaining within the framework of the general practice of non-interference in the information space regarding military operations.
