Su-57E fighter jet made a demonstration flight at Aero India 2025

The Russian fifth-generation fighter Su-57E made a demonstration flight at the international aerospace exhibition Aero India 2025, which is being held in Bangalore from February 10 to 14. The aircraft demonstrated its maneuverability in the sky, causing a stir among spectators and experts. According to the state corporation *Rostec*, experienced test pilot Sergei Bogdan, one of the leading pilots of the Su-57 program, was at the controls.

The Russian fighter's participation in the air show has attracted particular attention from the Indian military, which is considering purchasing it. Indian Deputy Defence Minister Sanjeev Kumar has previously confirmed that the country's armed forces are analysing the Su-57E's characteristics and assessing its potential for the Indian Air Force. According to him, the final decision on the purchase will be made after a detailed study of all the proposals submitted.

The demonstration flight was a key highlight of the exhibition as Russia unveiled the export version of the Su-57E for the first time at an Indian air show. The fighter, designed to replace the Su-27 and Su-30, features advanced stealth technology, high maneuverability and powerful weapons, making it a rival to Western counterparts such as the F-35 and France's Rafale.

India, which has one of the largest air forces in the world, is considering various options to upgrade its fleet of combat aircraft. Currently, the backbone of the Indian Air Force is the Russian Su-30MKI, which has been the country's main fighter for decades. However, New Delhi is looking to modernize its aviation, and in this context, the Su-57E could be one of the options.

Despite long-standing cooperation in military aviation, India is also actively exploring proposals from Western manufacturers, including the American F-35 and the French Rafale. However, the Russian fifth-generation fighter offers several advantages, including a lower cost compared to the F-35 and the possibility of deep localization of production at Indian enterprises.
