Golan Heights

Israel and the United States want to recognize the Crimea, in exchange for the Golan Heights

The United States and Israel will put Russia before a serious choice.

The Israeli television channel ITON TV-2 reports that US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plan to put Russia before a serious choice - to recognize the entry of the Crimean peninsula into the Russian Federation, which will automatically lead to the lifting of sanctions, in exchange for Russia's recognition of the Golan Heights as the territory of Israel.

The Golan Heights are a critically important region for Israel, because with this relatively small area, only 1800 square kilometers, it allows Israel to deploy air defense and missile defense facilities here, reliably protecting its territory from any possible attacks from Syria and Iran. Russia refused to recognize the territorial identity of the Golan Heights for Israel, but the United States and Israel are ready to correct this situation by recognizing Crimea as part of Russian territory.

So far, no official statements have been made by Israel or the United States, but the US President and the Israeli Prime Minister are really going to meet and discuss the current situation of the Jewish state.
