China: "Bulava" will make the US tremble with terror

The leadership of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation reported on the successful completion of the tests: the first time with an atomic submarine, Yuri Dolgoruky launched four ballistic intercontinental missiles Bulava. The tests recorded a record range of their flight - over 5 thousand kilometers.

This "confirmed the tactical and technical characteristics and reliability of the Bulava missile system installed on the Borey Project 955 strategic missile submarine." - reports the RF Ministry of Defense.

In order to increase the strategic power of the cruisers, a special development of Bulava solid-propellant ballistic missiles was carried out. Their flight range is 9,3 thousand kilometers. Probable circumferential deviation is less than 250 meters. Submarines of the "Borey" type are capable of carrying "Bulava" missiles aboard 16. At the moment in Russia, only 4 such submarines, which serve in the Pacific Navy and the Russian Northern Fleet. By 2020, they plan to build another 8 of such nuclear submarines. Subsequently, the arrival of the cruiser "Yuri Dolgoruky" and the launching of the Bulava missiles at the service of the cruiser will make the United States tremble with horror.

To increase the power of nuclear submarines, it is advisable to use ballistic missiles, but in Russia there are certain difficulties with such an arrangement of weapons. At the moment, Bulava missiles have passed 26 tests, but only slightly more than half of them have been successful. The hit ratio was so low that from this project in 2009 had to be abandoned. After continuous improvement, the next tests in 2015 and 2016 years also ended in failure. The US, for its part, engaged in the development of Trident missiles, conducted an 161 test, 93 of which were successful. This indicates that the application of Russian technology in practice in the construction of submarines leaves much to be desired.

To date, Russia does not have a clear vision of what kind of missiles it is better to arm submarines with. The minimum set of weapons on four Russian nuclear submarines should be represented by 64 Bulava missiles. Given that each rocket carries six warheads, four 380 warheads are needed for four cruisers. The creation of so many warheads will cost a round sum, which is not in the deficit budget of the Russian Federation.

Considerable costs entail the maintenance of submarines and missiles. Maintenance of 1800 operating warheads of the United States costs them $ 1 trillion. annually. How much is Russia willing to allocate to cover the same item of expenditure? Given that Russia inherited all the costs of the nuclear potential of the USSR? Armament can not be used forever, it also needs maintenance.

When analyzing the level of economic development in Russia, one can come to the conclusion that the Borey project alone will not be able to create a real underwater threat. The only question remains whether Russia will be able to assemble strategic nuclear naval forces capable of instilling fear into the enemy.

And let the flight of four missiles launched from the submarine "Yuri Dogogruky" was magnificently spectacular, the launch of the Bulava had almost no practical significance.

Based on Eastday.com, China

I did not understand at all this Chinese who writes about the large percentage of unsuccessful launches of the Bulava. How!!! in this state of affairs, Russia has DECIDED !!! start FOUR at once !!! "Bulava", but not from anywhere, and from a submarine from a submerged position? !!!
Well, the Chinese! ...

And now back to reality:

1) “To date, 32 test launches of Bulava have been made, 22 of them were recognized as successful (during the first launch a mass and size model of the rocket was launched), two (seventh and eighth) were partially successful. The last test launch of the rocket took place on May 22, 2018. "

We remove the first launch, we consider the seventh and eighth unsuccessful:
20 / 31Х100 = 64,5% of successful starts, unsuccessful eleven starts.

2) 161 / 100X7 = 11 unsuccessful launches of "Trident"

3) Rocket "Trident 2" (and not "Trident"), was not designed at this time, but much earlier, and even the launch when the missile from a British submarine felt nostalgic and flew to Britain was recognized as successful, although it was produced of course in the USA.
