China puzzled the largest aircraft builders with a low need for aircraft.

The Chinese corporation "Aviation Industry Corporation of China" conducted research, according to which, within the next 20 years, local carriers will need about 6100 aircraft, which is at least 15% lower than the world's largest aircraft manufacturers had expected. This is due primarily to the fact that in the near future, China intends to provide its carriers with airliners of its own production, in particular, it is about Comac C919 airplanes.

Given this fact, Airbus and Boeing will have to look for new markets, which is very problematic to do because of the rising cost of aircraft production.
