China's Jilin-1 satellite tracks US stealth fighters

Chinese aerospace manufacturer Chang Guang said its Jilin-1 satellite is capable of tracking the movements of US stealth fighters such as the F-22 Raptor. According to them, “we have been doing this for a long time, at least since 2020.” Project Clash Report claims that China's Jilin-1 satellite was able to track the flight of the F-22 Raptor as early as four years ago, and this is confirmed by a six-second video circulating on social media, although it does not clearly show the F-22.

If this report is confirmed, China will take another significant step forward in combating the presence of American stealth fighters. Until now, passive and active radars developed in China have been used for this purpose. American stealth fighters such as the F-22 Raptor have extremely advanced stealth capabilities, making them difficult to detect on enemy radars. However, China now claims that it can monitor the flight of these planes using the Jilin-1 satellite.

Jilin-1 satellite is a constellation of commercial remote sensing satellites developed by Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. The name of the satellite is taken from Jilin Province, where the company is headquartered. Jilin-1 is the first commercial remote sensing satellite developed in China and provides high-resolution images and videos for various applications including environmental monitoring, urban planning, agriculture, forestry, resource management and disaster response.
