Foreign airlines canceled in 2014 more than 12% of their flights to Russia.

As it became known, in the current year the number of flights through Russian territory significantly decreased. As noted by a number of experts, this is due in large part to the closure of Ukraine's eastern part of its territory, as a result, most of the air routes lie south of the territory of the Russian Federation.

Another factor, but not very significant, is the numerous strikes of such major European air carriers as "Air France" and "Lufthansa"As a result, during the period from April to October, dozens of flights did not take place.

Currently, the leading place among transit air carriers is occupied by Asian airlines, in particular air carriers from China.
