Russia's largest carrier may disappear due to the demands of the Ministry of Transport

Siberia Airlines may cease operations.

The General Director of the Siberia Airline, a member of the S7 Group, announced that due to the new requirements of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation for issuing air traffic, the airline may cease operations. According to experts, this will lead to serious problems for the entire sphere of civil aviation in Russia.

From 2020, the initiative of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation provides for the transfer of databases and servers for booking and selling tickets for domestic flights to the territory of the Russian Federation. According to the general director of the airline "Siberia", such an approach can take up to four years, while during this period the company can lose billions of rubles of its profit. In fact, the airline simply will not have the opportunity to cooperate with partners in the aviation alliance, and foreign companies will not be able to sell tickets for domestic flights.

“The new requirements of the Ministry of Transport make the existence of the air carrier simply unprofitable. So far, there are no direct prerequisites for the disappearance of Siberia, but if the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation continues to conduct a campaign that oppresses the air carriers of Russia, then in the near future there will simply be no one to fly ”, - the expert marks.

It should be clarified that the majority of domestic air carriers are somehow connected with foreign companies, in particular, the new initiative of the Ministry of Transport can touch not only Siberia, but also Aeroflot, Pobeda, Ural Airlines, etc.

This is all the director's tantrum. They will transfer and will not go anywhere. Siberia will never agree to lose such a transportation market.
