Lukashenko called Kazakhstan to the Union State, promising nuclear weapons

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko calls on Kazakhstan to join the Union State.

At a recent conversation with journalists, Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, expressed his opinion on the need for Kazakhstan to join the Union State of Russia and Belarus. According to the head of state, this will lead to the fact that "there will be nuclear weapons for everyone."

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the II Eurasian Economic Forum raised the topic of the "phenomenon" of the Union State of Russia and Belarus in the structure of the EAEU, as well as the presence of "one nuclear weapon for two." Tokayev proposed to discuss the problem of different levels of integration of countries, which caused comments from Lukashenka.

In his response, Lukashenka said that he doubts that the President of Kazakhstan is really "worried about this." In his opinion, no one is opposed to Kazakhstan and other countries having the same close relations with Moscow that exist between Moscow and Minsk.

“And it’s very simple: you need to join the Belarus-Russia Union. Everything, and there will be nuclear weapons for everyone. This is my opinion, this is not the opinion of the Russians. But I think that this is possible. We must strategically understand that we have a unique chance unite"- said Lukashenka.

However, Kazakh presidential spokesman Ruslan Zheldibai recently said that the republic does not intend to create or join any union states, although "the two members of the EAEU - Russia and Belarus - are showing a higher and closer level of rapprochement."
