Lukashenko announced preparations for the installation of Oreshnik in Belarus

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has confirmed that there are already several dozen nuclear warheads on the territory of the republic, and also announced plans to deploy Russian Oreshnik missile systems. The statements were made during a working visit to Borisov, Minsk Region. According to him, these weapons will become a key element of the country's defense and a response to the strengthening of armaments in neighboring states.

Lukashenko noted that the components of the launcher for the Oreshnik are already being developed in Belarus.

"In Oreshnik, the entire launcher is Belarusian, except for the missile. We are ready to help in creating missile technologies, as was the case with the nuclear power plant, but we will produce the launcher ourselves - MZKT is doing this"- he said.

The President stressed that the republic would never have been able to create such a complex missile system on its own.

"This is a powerful weapon. Creating it from scratch would require huge resources, technology and decades of work. Thanks to cooperation with Russia, we can protect ourselves faster and more effectively," - added Lukashenko.

According to the president, the Oreshnik systems will appear in Belarus in 2025. The issue of their deployment is currently being discussed: about 30 sites are being considered, including former strategic nuclear missile sites. Lukashenko emphasized that the missiles for the Oreshnik will be provided by Russia free of charge, and the launch of the system is planned for the second half of next year.

The decision to deploy missile systems and nuclear warheads, according to Lukashenko, has caused a strong reaction in the international community. However, he called these measures forced and emphasized that they are a response to the deployment of medium-range weapons in neighboring European countries. The president expects that the new weapons will have a deterrent effect. "Before they come to us with tanks or missiles, they will think hard. The response will be serious, because there is no antidote to these weapons," Lukashenko noted.

However, there are concerns that the actions of Belarus and Russia in the area of armament are seriously increasing tensions in Europe. Against the background of changes in the geopolitical situation, the issue of armament is becoming a key factor in determining the future strategy of relations between the West and the East. Against this background, Trump, feeling threatened, may deploy nuclear weapons in Poland and even in Ukraine.
