The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the successful repelling of an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) to invade the Kursk region. According to the department, units of the North group of troops, with the support of army aviation and artillery fire, managed to repel two attacks by assault groups of the UAF in the area of the settlements of Malaya Loknya and Komarovka. In addition, enemy attacks in the direction of the settlements of Korenevo, Olgovka and Pogrebki were thwarted.
During the fighting, a combat armored vehicle of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was destroyed, as well as three cars. Two Ukrainian servicemen surrendered.
In addition, Russian aviation and artillery struck concentrations of manpower and equipment of Ukrainian units, including the 22nd and 61st mechanized brigades, the 80th and 82nd airborne assault brigades, the 92nd assault brigade, and the 1st brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. The strikes were carried out on a number of populated areas, including Apanasivka, Borki, Vishnevka, Viktorovka, Gordeyevka, Krasnooktyabrskoye and others. This allowed Russian troops to inflict significant losses on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in personnel and equipment.
In addition, an active reconnaissance and search operation is continuing in the forests of the Kursk region to identify enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups that are trying to penetrate into Russian territory.
