The world awaits the US State Department's decision on NATO weapons strikes on Russian territory

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Kyiv on Wednesday morning, where Ukrainian leaders continue to press for US permission to use American long-range weapons against targets in Russia. British Foreign Secretary David Lammy also arrived in Kyiv with Blinken. Their scheduled meetings include talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other senior Ukrainian officials, according to a US State Department statement, ABC News reports.

According to the State Department press service, the meetings will discuss issues of continuing support for Ukraine, as well as measures that will help Ukraine stabilize its military, economic and democratic positions in the long term.

One of the key topics of Blinken's visit was the discussion of allowing Ukraine to strike long-range American missiles at military targets in Russia. Kyiv has long insisted that such actions could significantly weaken Moscow's ability to launch missile strikes on Ukrainian cities. In particular, this concerns air bases from which Russia launches its long-range missiles.
