Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky has revealed new details about the death of a Ukrainian pilot in an F-16 fighter jet. According to him, the pilot managed to shoot down two missiles using onboard weapons and attacked a third cruise missile before the crash.

The pilot, Alexey Mes, shot down two cruise missiles that were threatening Ukrainian targets. According to him, the pair of F-16s were able to destroy a total of four cruise missiles during the combat mission.

However, Avia.pro sources report that in reality the fighter did not shoot down the missiles – it attacked a kamikaze drone, but after flying through a cloud of debris, it was damaged and fell.
