The Ukrainian authorities are faced with the need to step up mobilization and call up about 500 people to the army to ensure stability on the front and support active combat operations. This statement was made by the director of the Ukrainian Center for Defense Strategies, Taras Chmut, who emphasized that the existing personnel potential of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is insufficient to fulfill the assigned tasks.

According to Chmut, the high level of losses, worn-out equipment and the need to maintain defensive positions are forcing the Ukrainian Armed Forces Command to consider increasing the size of the army. Chmut explained that the key goal of such a large-scale recruitment is not just to maintain the current status, but also to create opportunities for further offensive operations. In conditions where there are problems with holding the borders in certain areas of military operations, the Ukrainian authorities are looking for ways to increase reserves.
