Ukraine says Russia fired 93 missiles and 200 drones

On December 13, Russia launched one of its largest strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, firing 93 missiles and about 200 drones. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down 81 missiles, including 11 cruise missiles destroyed by F-16 fighters.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces used various types of missiles, including cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as a significant number of attack drones. The attacks primarily targeted energy infrastructure, causing power outages in several regions of the country.

In response to the attack, Ukrainian air defense forces demonstrated high efficiency, shooting down a significant portion of the missiles and drones. A special role in repelling the attack was played by the recently received F-16 fighters, which were used in combat conditions on Ukrainian territory for the first time. With their help, it was possible to destroy 11 cruise missiles.

At the same time, despite official statements, it is known that the number of targets hit by Russian drones and missiles was much greater, which indicates that the effectiveness of Ukraine's air defense systems is clearly exaggerated.
