On the last day of July, Ukraine took delivery of the first ten F-16 fighters out of 79 promised by Western allies. These aircraft, capable of significantly strengthening the country's air force, became an important step in supporting Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia.

By the end of this year, Ukraine plans to receive 10 more fighters, bringing the total number of aircraft to 20. The remaining 59 F-16s will be delivered in batches during 2025, The Economist reports.

These supplies were the result of months of negotiations between the Ukrainian government and Western countries that actively support Kyiv in its confrontation with Russia.

Earlier it became known that F-16 fighters have already fly over Ukraine with AIM-9 missiles.
