Ukraine has at least 25-30 combat aircraft in service

Former military pilot Ilya Tumanov, known as an aviation expert, said that today the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have a fleet of combat aircraft numbering from 25 to 30 aircraft of various types. He reported this on his Telegram channel Fighterbomber, commenting on the state of Ukrainian military aviation in the context of the ongoing conflict with Russia. According to Tumanov, despite significant losses and difficult operating conditions, Kyiv manages to maintain a limited number of combat-ready aircraft that are used to carry out tasks at the front. The expert's statement emphasizes the stability of the AFU in the air, although he did not specify specific models and their condition.

Tumanov, a former Russian Air Force officer who has experience flying Su-34 fighter-bombers, has a reputation as an informed military commentator. His assessment is based on an analysis of open data and, likely, intelligence information available through his sources.

It should be noted that, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 659 aircraft and 283 helicopters of the Ukrainian Air Force have been destroyed since the beginning of the conflict.
