The head of the Russian Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces (RCBD), Igor Kirillov, in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel, expressed concern about the possible presence of a so-called “dirty bomb” in Kyiv - a device that combines a traditional explosive with radioactive materials. According to Kirillov, creating such a weapon is not very difficult and he suggests that the Ukrainian side may already have access to such a device.
Kirillov emphasized that the technologies and materials needed to create a “dirty bomb” do not require complex and high-tech processes, which makes its production relatively affordable. He expressed the opinion that given the current tensions and the possible intentions of the Ukrainian leadership, there is a possibility that such devices may already be developed and ready for use.
