45 gunmen shot down over Khmeimim airbase

The Ministry of Defense of Russia made a sensational statement.

The official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov made a sensational statement about the attacks of the fighters "Jays al-Izza" on the Russian military air base "Khmeimim". According to him, over the past month over the Russian military base, 45 drones-kamikaze-have been destroyed.

As follows from Igor Konoshenkov's statement, thanks to Russian air defense facilities, over the air base "Khmeimim" and in its vicinity, over the past month, 45 unmanned aerial vehicles of militants have been destroyed, which is an absolute record for attacks on Russian soldiers stationed on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic .

"Over the past month, 45 unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with improvised explosive devices have been destroyed by air defense facilities of the base or EW. Only in the last three days five drones were shot down ", - said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It should be clarified that earlier representatives of the Jaysh al-Izza group claimed responsibility for the attacks on the Russian base, with most of the attacks occurring from the northeastern direction, where, most likely, the production of kamikaze drones is located.

As for the drones themselves, they are produced in artisanal conditions, mainly from plastic and plywood, being equipped with a relatively cheap electronic stuffing.

"Russian experts analyzed UAVs that were destroyed or intercepted, and concluded that these homemade UAVs are assembled according to a clear instruction developed by specialists and, accordingly, operation is also carried out according to instructions", - said Konashenkov.

Specialists suggested that all attacks on the Russian military airbase Khmeimim were carried out directly from US parcels, while the main purpose of the attacks is to deter Russian troops from helping the Syrian government forces.
