NATO officially accused Russia of violating the INF.

NATO officially accuses Russia of violating the Treaty on the Elimination of Medium and Small-Range Missiles.

NATO came to the conclusion that the Russian Novator missile (9М729 - editor's note) was developed and put into service, contrary to the Treaty on the Elimination of Medium and Small-Range Missiles. In fact, Russia unilaterally violated this treaty, which requires the adoption of appropriate measures.

“The Allies concluded that Russia had developed and deployed the 9М729 rocket system, which violates the INF Treaty and represents a significant risk of Euro-Atlantic security”- says the official report.

Experts, in turn, came to the opinion that NATO's decision was based on US data, since due to the secrecy of the Novator missile project, the NATO member countries could not have information about the characteristics of this missile, which indicates only the use of only assumptions.

The United States Secretary of State, in turn, stated that Washington is unilaterally ready to withdraw from the INF mode if Russia does not renew its observance within 60 days, which in fact implies the removal of the missiles violating this treaty and the termination of all developments in this area.

In Russia, such statements have so far not responded.
