New sanctions from the US will affect the military sector of the Russian Federation

The New York Times reports that the introduction by the US government of unprecedented sanctions against Russia does not hamper the actions of President Vladimir Putin, who continues to inflict serious damage on international peace and stability.

Along with tightening financial sanctions against Putin and his closest associates, there is another tool in the arsenal of American politicians that will increase diplomatic pressure on Russia.

For consideration in the US State Department will be raised the issue of making Russia a list of countries sponsoring terrorism, along with its close allies - Syria and Iran.

Such a decision from the point of view of US officials is fully justified. Russia introduced troops to its neighbors Georgia and Ukraine, it protects the bloodthirsty regime of Bashar al-Assad and the enemies of the United States in Afghanistan, conducts an active information war against Western democracies and in 2016 intervened in the presidential elections in the US in 2016.

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons announced this week that the Kremlin has crossed another previously unthinkable line. She confirmed the version of the British government that the poisoning of the Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury used a Russian-developed substance called Novichok. The victim of this attack was not only the subject of the assassination attempt, but also the British law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene. Several passers-by were also injured.

Although Russia rejects all the accusations in this case, the evidence testifies against it. Consequently, the motives and significance of this attack become understandable. Now Russia is responsible for an attempt on the life of a NATO representative on its territory. From the US point of view, this is a direct violation of the sovereignty of their closest closest ally, which they can not leave unanswered.

“Before the official conclusion of the organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons in the case of poisoning in Salisbury, there was a terrible chemical attack by Assad against his people in Syria. He retains his power in the country only because the Kremlin provides him with enormous economic, military and diplomatic support. The use of chemical weapons against civilians is contrary to international law, "writes The New York Times.

Syria's chemical program is the main reason why this country is called in the US a state sponsor of terrorism.

Corey Gardner, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is particularly concerned about international terrorism and Russia's actions outside its territory. He demanded that the State Department determine within 90 days whether the Russian Federation meets the criteria of a state sponsoring terrorism.

With a positive response to the Russian Federation, a ban will be imposed on the export of products of the military-industrial complex, humanitarian assistance is limited, and financial and other sanctions are applied.

In addition to actions in Syria, the American politician asks to take into account the events unfolding in Ukraine. After the Kremlin annexed Crimea to Russian territory, and then supported the self-proclaimed republics in the eastern regions of the neighboring state, the world community did not react to its aggression, which continues и to this day. The military conflict in the east of Ukraine, took the lives of 10 thousand Ukrainians, and 1,7 million inhabitants became refugees. During the fighting in the Donbass, a passenger airliner was shot down. The tragedy occurred 17 July 2014 year. On board the Boeing 777, following on the voyage of Kuala Lumpur - Amsterdam, there were 298 people. All of them died. This incident is already beginning to be forgotten by the world community, and the perpetrators remain unpunished.
