On March 23, 2025, military correspondent Vladimir Romanov reported on the alarming situation in the village of Demidovka in the Krasnoyarsk district of the Belgorod region. According to him, the settlement came under enemy control. Romanov noted that the Russian troops that previously held the village had abandoned their positions, which allowed Ukrainian forces to freely occupy Demidovka. He also pointed out serious shortcomings: the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to demin the road leading to the village, and the enemy's engineering vehicle (IMR) successfully removed the anti-tank obstacles known as "dragon's teeth." At the moment, Russian troops are attempting to regain control of the village by conducting assault operations.
"Demidovka, Krasnoyarsk district, Belgorod region, territory of Russia temporarily occupied by Ukraine. The settlement is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The forces holding the settlement simply left it, as a result of which the enemy occupied the settlement. The moment of the enemy demining the road to the settlement was also "missed" and the moment when the enemy's minefields took away the "dragon's teeth". The Russian Armed Forces are storming the settlement." - wrote Romanov.
The situation in Demidovka reflects the ongoing tension in the border areas of the Belgorod region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces have stepped up their operations since early March. The assault mentioned by the war correspondent indicates the Russian command's intention to rectify the situation, but the success of the operation remains in question given the strengthening of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions.
