Russian defense enterprises will be exempted from dividend payments

Investors and shareholders of Russian defense enterprises may be left without dividends.

The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation made a proposal for exemption from dividend payment by Russian defense industry enterprises. The funds that were previously supposed to be used as payments to shareholders are now supposed to be spent on the implementation of a number of projects, which in turn can create a very negative situation.

Despite the fact that Rosimuschestvo is a recipient of dividends, representatives of the Federal Agency for State Property Management noted that they are not yet familiar with such a proposal, while the size of payments to enterprises of the military-industrial complex (DIC) for the current year can reach more than 500 million.

To date, the Almaz-Antey concern, which develops and manufactures the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems, operates the largest amount of dividends. According to the results of the past year, the company transferred about 272 million rubles, and by the end of the current year, this figure may exceed 300 million rubles.

Rostec also noted that they are not familiar with the situation around the proposal of the Ministry of Economic Development, but they fully support it.

“This is a good idea. Of course, a reasonable balance is necessary here, taking into account the interests of shareholders. ”- Deputy Director General of Rostec Corporation told RBC.

Analysts, in turn, believe that such a speedy approach can create a very unfavorable situation, especially since at the moment it remains unknown what specific investment projects we are talking about and how promising they are.

It should be clarified that the proposal of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation is based mainly on instructions from President Vladimir Putin, who demanded an increase in the share of investment in GDP to 25%.
