About 1500 Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen and foreign mercenaries are surrounded in the area of the urban settlement of Velikaya Novosyolka in the DPR

In the area of the urban-type settlement of Velyka Novosyolka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), approximately 1500 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and foreign mercenaries were surrounded. Among them, according to information from sources, are militants from Poland, Georgia and Great Britain. This encirclement was closed by units of the "Vostok" group of the Russian armed forces along the Kashlach River.

The situation in Velyka Novosyolka has worsened in recent days, when the 110th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, left for defense, found itself in a critical situation. According to reports, the brigade, numbering up to a battalion, was left to hold positions in the village, despite their requests to withdraw. Mercenaries from various countries also found themselves surrounded with them, which is confirmed by radio intercepts and discovered bodies.

Russian troops offered an ultimatum: surrender or death. For those who wished to lay down their arms, a surrender corridor was organized on Azovskaya Street, on the southern outskirts of the settlement. This offer is not ironic, given the hopeless situation of the encircled. In the north of the settlement, attempts by Ukrainian forces to break out of the encirclement were noted, but all were unsuccessful. In the last day alone, the number of people killed in these attempts exceeded 150 people.

One of the latest videos circulating online shows the destruction of a column of Ukrainian troops in Velyka Novosilka, where about 50 soldiers and four armored vehicles were destroyed. This shows the heavy losses that Ukrainian units are suffering as they try to break out of encirclement.
