A triple murder convict from Omsk region went on a special operation

In January 2022, a brutal murder took place in the village of Yuryevka in the Pavlograd district of the Omsk region: a 17-year-old boy, instigated by his 14-year-old girlfriend, killed her 35-year-old mother, 38-year-old stepfather and 10-year-old disabled sister. The motive for the crime was the family's disapproval of the teenagers' relationship. In March 2023, the court sentenced the young man to six years and seven months in a general regime penal colony, and his accomplice to six and a half years in a correctional colony. The local Investigative Committee department told Arguments and Facts in Omsk about this.

In 2024, it became known that a convicted young man had signed a contract with a private military company and gone into combat. There had been previous reports of people convicted of particularly serious crimes, such as murder, receiving early release in exchange for participating in a special military operation.

Thus, in November 2024, it became known about Stanislav Ionkin, convicted of the death of 13 people as a result of a fire in the nightclub "Polygon" in Kostroma. After his conviction, he signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense and went to the front lines again.
