Despite the US sanctions against Russia, the Pentagon intends to purchase Russian helicopters for Afghanistan.

Such intentions were expressed even before the United States presented several packages of sanctions against a number of sectors of the Russian economy, and now, despite the fact that the project was frozen, the Pentagon intends to complete this kind of deal. At the moment it became known that we are talking about the purchase of Mi-8 helicopters, however, the number of purchased units is not reported.

Despite the fact that this kind of contract is beneficial for both countries, it may be disrupted due to sanctions, or it may take several years to complete.
