The first four MiG-29 fighters transferred by Slovakia to Ukraine are already flying in the sky over Kharkov

Ukraine received the first four MiG-29 fighters, which were transferred by Slovakia. These aircraft are already actively used in combat missions in the sky over the city of Kharkov.
According to the information voiced by the Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratyuk at a meeting of the Slovak Parliament, Slovakia must transfer a total of 13 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. In addition, Poland also promised to send another 20 fighter jets to Ukraine, for a total of 33 aircraft of this type.
However, despite the fact that the MiG-29s were upgraded in the 2000s with Western electronics and navigation systems, some representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command express concerns about the effectiveness of these obsolete aircraft in combating modern threats such as cruise missiles and drones. In particular, Yury Ignat, a representative of the command of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted that the MiG-29s are not effective enough in the fight against drones and cruise missiles.
