According to the information provided, the airstrikes were inflicted on the east of the province of Deir ez-Zor, while four F-16 combat fighters took part in the air attack.

As you can see in the presented video frames, we are talking about precise airstrikes against pre-selected targets. Considering the fact that earlier in this region a high activity of terrorists of the "Islamic State" was noticed (a terrorist group officially banned in Russia - ed.), It can be assumed that the airstrikes were connected precisely with the intentions to destroy the terrorists.

In turn, sources in social networks report that the official Damascus expressed concern about the air strikes on Syria, since the Iraqi Air Force Command had previously warned the Syrian military about intentions to attack the positions of terrorists, while the last blows were struck without agreement.

At the moment, the Western coalition, led by the United States, is conducting an active phase of clearing the Deir ez-Zor region from the terrorists of the Islamic State, intending to complete a special operation by mid-January next year.
