Su-25SM attack aircraft shot down from MANPADS near Bakhmut

Another Su-25 attack aircraft was shot down in the Bakhmut area.

This afternoon, a few kilometers from Bakhmut, another Su-25SM attack aircraft was shot down. The combat aircraft was supposed to strike at ground targets, however, it entered the zone of destruction of the operator of the portable anti-aircraft missile system and was hit, after which it crashed to the ground and caught fire. The fate of the crew is still unknown, since it is not possible to get close to the crash site of the attack aircraft, since it is actively shot through.

According to preliminary data, the aircraft was conducted by a spotter, and as soon as the latter flew over the MANPADS operator, an anti-aircraft missile was fired at it. Due to the loss of thrust in one of the engines, the attack aircraft fell to the ground and drove about a hundred meters along it on its belly, after which it caught fire.

This is far from the first downed Su-25 attack aircraft in the Bakhmut area. This indicates that there are a large number of MANPADS operators here. This fact makes the possibility of using military aviation extremely ineffective, although at the same time, guided aircraft missiles are used for strikes on the outskirts of Bakhmut, both by the Russian and Ukrainian sides.
