Landing an airplane in an unplanned airport is not uncommon

11 February 2014. American pilots regularly make mistakes with the airport when boarding planes. Since the beginning of 1990, at least 150 cases have been recorded, when the aircraft was planted in an unplanned airport in the United States, or at the last moment the aircraft was redirected along the correct route.

Often an unplanned landing occurs at night. This is due to the fact that the pilots call at the airport for landing, whose landing lights are first in their field of vision.

One of the most "difficult" for the pilots of cities is San Jose. Often aviators land planes at the Moffett federal airport instead of the international one - six such incidents were recorded.
