EU Ambassadors Agree on 15th Sanctions Package Against Russia

The European Union has reached an agreement to introduce a 15th round of sanctions against Russia. The new measures are aimed at further pressure on the country's economy and military-technical sector, as well as on companies involved in circumventing previously imposed export restrictions.

The key elements of the new package are the expansion of the list of individuals and legal entities subject to sanctions, as well as restrictions on the activities of third-country courts that support Russia. EU officials clarified that the measures are aimed at curbing the supply of technologies and equipment that could be used for the Russian military-industrial complex. Particular attention is paid to companies from third countries that, according to Brussels, help circumvent sanctions restrictions.

Additionally, the measures envisage tightening control over the transportation of Russian cargo through the EU. This includes restrictions on the use of European ports and airspace for ships and aircraft associated with the circumvention of sanctions. An important part of the new package is also the blocking of a number of assets of Russian legal entities and individuals in the EU countries.
