On the night of August 6, 2024, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) attempted to break into Russian territory in the Kursk region, using armored vehicles, including tanks. As a result of the fighting, several armored vehicles were destroyed. The enemy tried to operate in small groups in the Sudzhansky district, moving towards the settlements of Goncharovka and Kurilovka.

The Public Relations Center of the FSB of Russia reported about an armed provocation on a section of the state border. Border settlements in the region came under fire, which caused alarm and concern among the local population.

Border guards, together with attached units of the Russian Armed Forces, took measures to repel armed aggression. As a result of operational actions, it was possible to prevent further advance of the enemy into Russian territory. However, the situation remains tense and active hostilities continue.
