As follows from the data published the day before in the American press, the command of the US Air Force is considering the possibility of replacing combat aircraft leading the fight in Syria and Iraq against the forces of the terrorist grouping "Islamic State", to cheaper ones. It is assumed that the F-22 and F-35 fighters will be recalled to their permanent deployment sites, and their place will be occupied by light turboprop attack planes, whose maintenance is less expensive.

Experts believe that given the relatively high cost of production of the F-22 and F-35 fighters, and also taking into account the high cost of one hour of flight, such a decision by the US military command is a justified step, especially since the main phase of the fight against terrorists The Islamic State grouping has been completed, however, it is likely that other circumstances may also contribute, including Bashar al-Assad's recently made statement on the deployment of air defense systems in order to destroy any military aircraft illegally entering Syria.
