November 26 2013. Thai Air Force will receive radar-type AN / TPS-78 from the company Northrop Grumman. Start delivery of such systems by the end of the year 2014, the number of radars and the amount of the transaction were not disclosed.

The radars will be used in the airborne condition monitoring system and in the air defense system.

At the moment available in Thailand are already three types of radar AN / TPS-78. Stations operate in the S-range, and able to accommodate targets at a distance 450 km.

In addition to the radar AN / TPS-78 Thailand also uses the AN / FPS-130X and AN / TPS-703, which also makes the company Norhtrop Grumman.
