Regular flights to Central Asia from Tomsk airport planned for 2014 year.

11 October Victor Shendel (director of the Tomsk airport) announced that it plans to implement regular flights to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan from Tomsk already 2014 year.

In May 2013, an international terminal was opened at the Tomsk airport. In spring and summer, charter flights to Spain and Turkey were already carried out. And for the fall-winter they plan to launch flights to Vietnam, Thailand and Egypt. Many students fly from Kazakhstan to Tomsk. The city authorities said that it is necessary to expand transport activities. But for scheduled flights, an intergovernmental agreement is required, which is not easy to obtain.

Tomsk Airport received international status in 2010, and hopes to receive an agreement from the authorities in the near future.
