According to The Paper, this decision was caused by the desire to save their Challenger 2 tanks, which have numerous flaws, from shame. However, experts fear that even these shells will not be able to penetrate the front armor of Russian tanks T-72B3, T-80 and T-90.

In addition, The Paper warns of a high risk that depleted uranium projectiles could contaminate one of the most fertile black soils in the world and lead to an increase in cancer, liver, nervous system and neonatal pathologies.
