Aleksey Rogozin, head of ANO "CRTT", expressed his opinion on the use of the American GPS navigation system in Russia in the current conditions. In his opinion, GPS stations located on Russian territory should be turned off and the use of this system should be completely blocked.

Rogozin stressed that Russia has its own fully deployed GLONASS orbital navigation system, the signal of which can be received by any smartphone and car navigator in the world. According to the head of CRTT, the urgency of such a step is beyond doubt, especially given the ongoing events of the past 15 months.

Rogozin's comment comes at a time when international relations are escalating and significant changes are taking place in the field of information security. Disabling GPS could be a response to actions that Russia considers unfriendly or threatening to its interests.

At the same time, Rogozin called on the public and the relevant authorities to realize the significance of such a decision. In his opinion, with its own effective navigation system, Russia can ensure independence in this area and increase the level of security.
