Russia intends to build in the Arctic 13 airfields for the deployment of the Air Force.

The statement on the construction of bases in the Arctic was announced during a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. As it became known, the construction of new airfields is more associated with the need to improve the country's defense capabilities, and the Arctic lands are also very effective for this.

It is worth noting that at the moment this is not the case, although the future perspective is being carefully elaborated and evaluated at various levels, including the subsequent applicability for the needs of civil aviation.
