Russia: we will defend Belarus to the last

Any attack on Belarus will be regarded as an attack on Russia.

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Belarus declared that Russia would not allow any military pressure on its neighbor and main strategic partner in Eastern Europe. According to Mikhail Babich, any aggression against Belarus will be regarded as an attack on the Russian Federation, as a result, all measures will be taken to completely suppress the aggressive country.

“A very important moment, I think, for our Belarusian partners, and for those who are plotting something: an attack on Belarus, anyone militarily, will be regarded as an attack on Russia with all the ensuing consequences”, - said the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Belarus.

The statement of Mikhail Babich is primarily due to the intentions of Poland to build an American military base near the borders of Belarus, as well as the construction, in the future, of a military air base on the border of Belarus, Lithuania and Russia.

“We are a Union State, we have allied relations, there is a single military policy that guarantees absolute security for our citizens”- Babich stressed.

It should be clarified that this policy of Russia fully satisfies the official Minsk, however, it is important to bear in mind that Belarus still stubbornly refuses to deploy Russian military bases on its territory, which is most likely due to the intention of the head of the Belarusian state to develop friendly and partnership relations not only with Russia, but also with the West.

“Belarus is trying to distance itself from the problem and cold relations between Russia and the West. On the one hand, this decision is the best suited for the country separating NATO and Russia, however, it is important to understand that if Minsk decides to join the West, the Russian borders will be completely open to NATO. ”, - the analyst Avia.pro underlines.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the deployment of Russian military bases in the country is a very complicated issue, against the background of which he offered to transfer the Russian military equipment to the Belarusian side, at least for rent.
