Russia has joined the Montreal Air Transport Convention.

Delayed flights, loss of luggage, damage to the health of passengers or death of citizens will now be compensated taking into account the provisions of the Montreal Convention on Air Transportation. New rules for Russian airlines will apply only on international air routes, however, experts already see a significant positive in this, as this will increase the quality of services provided.

As for the passengers themselves, now they can count on very substantial compensation, however, the citizens interviewed reported that the fact that air carriers, in the event of a prolonged flight delay, will be heavily fined, will be much more pleasant news for them, and therefore, the situation with charter flights can finally stabilize.
