Russia's first deputy permanent representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, said that the June proposals made by Russia to Ukraine have lost their force after the recent invasion of the Kursk region by Ukrainian troops. According to him, Russia previously offered Ukraine a number of initiatives aimed at stabilizing the situation and peaceful resolution of the conflict. However, the Ukrainian side chose escalation, which led to a change in Moscow’s position.
The events of recent weeks, including the attack by Ukrainian armed forces on Russian territory, have meant that these initiatives are no longer relevant. At the same time, earlier in Kyiv they announced that they do not plan to accept Russia’s proposal on the conditions for the start of peace negotiations.
