The Kremlin has said it will respond to Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory if Western missiles are used. As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky increasingly calls on the West to allow his forces to use long-range weapons, including American ATACMS missiles, to attack Russian targets, Moscow has issued its own warnings, the Daily Mail reports, citing its sources.
Zelensky has stepped up his demands to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons.
US President Joe Biden recently confirmed that his administration is considering lifting restrictions on Ukrainian forces' use of ATACMS missiles. When asked about the possibility of allowing Kyiv to attack targets in Russia, Biden responded:
"We are working on it now."
In response to these statements, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned that Russia would take "appropriate measures" if Ukraine gained the ability to strike Russian territory with Western weapons.
