Russian troops continue active combat operations in the Selidovo area in Donbas. According to sources, in order to complete the encirclement of Ukrainian units, the Russian Armed Forces need to take control of four more strongholds located around the city. Intensive battles are currently underway there, which could be decisive for the further outcome of the battles in this direction.

Selydove is an important strategic point, holding which allows the Ukrainian Armed Forces to control several key roads and settlements in the Donbas. The loss of the city could significantly weaken Ukrainian forces in the region and open the way for the Russian army to further advance westward.

It is reported that during the fighting on the approaches to Selidovo, Russian troops have already taken control of several strategically important positions, which allowed them to approach the city and reduce the Ukrainian units’ ability to maneuver.
